Oscar winner Jamie Foxx was a real-life action hero Monday night — reportedly rescuing a driver from a burning vehicle.

Foxx, 48, wasted no time when he heard a violent wreck outside his gate in the celebrity enclave of Hidden Valley northwest of Los Angeles, TMZ.com reported.

The actor ran to the scene and saw the driver in distress inside the flipped-over and smoking car, the website said.

Apparently the driver skidded on wet roads, hit a ditch and flipped upside down, TMZ said.

Worried the vehicle might explode, Foxx reportedly unbuckled the driver and dragged the man about 30 feet away from the accident.

The actor already had called 911, so first responders arrived a short time later and transported the victim to a hospital with injuries, TMZ said.

Foxx currently is the subject of intense speculation that he's in a serious dating relationship with actress Katie Holmes.

Holmes, 37, is the ex-wife of Foxx's "Collateral" co-star Tom Cruise.

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has suffered his third calf muscle injury of the season

Bale, 26, limped off shortly before half-time during Real's 5-1 La Liga win at home to Sporting Gijon on Sunday.

The Wales international, who has scored 13 goals in Spain this season, is reportedly set to be out for three weeks.

"He has been diagnosed with a soleus (calf) muscle injury in his right leg," Real said on their website.

"His recovery will continue to be assessed."

Reports in Spain suggest Real are hoping to have Bale back for the last-16 Champions League tie against Roma on 17 February.

Bale has missed eight games over two separate spells this season because of calf injuries.

He was criticised in the Spanish media after suffering a recurrence of the original while playing for Wales against Andorra in October.

Since returning to fitness at the beginning of November, he has scored 11 goals in as many games for Real.

A serial killer known as "The Pusher" is terrorizing a British city and has taken more than 60 lives, some people claim.

Family members and experts say dozens of men have been pushed into canals in Manchester, but cops say there is no evidence of foul play. A documentary airing on Britain's Channel 4 on Tuesday night is set to examine the deaths more closely and add fuel to the debate.

There were 61 bodies found in local canals between 2008 and 2015, according to a Freedom of Information request, the Mirror reported.

“It is unlikely that such a high number of cases are the result of just accidents or suicides as canals are not popular suicide spots, especially for men," Professor Craig Jackson of Birmingham City University said, according to the British newspaper.

However, Jackson withdrew his comments after meeting with Manchester authorities, according to the Mirror.

Many family members believe that a serial killer is on the loose, or that foul play is involved.

"It needs to be investigated to find out if there is really a serial killer in this case," dad Santanu Pal said in the documentary, according to the Mirror. "There must be involvement of a third party. That could be a straight case or that could be a serial killer."

The body of his 18-year-old son, Souvik, was found in the Bridgewater Canal in January of 2013, three weeks after he was booted from a New Year’s Eve party, the Mirror reported. Souvik was seen walking with an unidentified man, and surveillance footage showed them crossing a canal bridge. One of them attempted to climb a railing and only one of the them returned, according to the Mirror.

“Despite extensive investigation it can not be ascertained where or how he entered the water," coroner Joanne Kearsley said, the Mirror reported.

The parents of another possible victim, 21-year-old David Plunkett, heard "screaming and howling" in their last phone call with their son, according to the paper.

"Something had terrified him," dad Michael said, the Mirror reported. "He was on the phone but our son could not speak to us. And that’s not because he was drunk."

The mother of 21-year-old Nathan Tomlinson said her son's coat, phone, passport and wallet were missing when his body was found early in 2013, according to the newspaper.

"I have always thought Nathan's death was suspicious," she said. "There were a lot of flaws in the investigation and the police were slow at the start."

An author believes that a serial killer is targeting gay men, or men the killer believes are gay. Thomas Sheridan claims he was followed by "a tall man wearing a hood" while investigating the deaths, according to the paper.

"I'm convinced foul play is a point concerning some of the bodies," he said, according to the paper. "I concur with the people of Manchester that 'The Pusher' is almost certainly the cause of some of these deaths."

Cops dispute the notion that foul play was involved. Detective Chief Inspector Pete Marsh said some died from alcohol, while others committed suicide, according to the paper.

“Down near Canal St. it is mainly young men and a lot of them are drunk late into the evening," Marsh said, according to the paper. "There are meeting places and the side of the canals. Drink and water don’t mix. Those individuals may be putting themselves more at risk. There is nothing that links any of these deaths."

“If a serial killer decided to cause their deaths by pushing them into the water, how could that person guarantee they would die?" Ex-Derbyshire Detective Chief Superintendent Tony Blockley said, according to the paper.

President Muhammadu Buhari said Monday in Abu Dhabi that Nigeria has made very significant progress towards ending the Boko Haram insurgency since his assumption of office on May 29 last year.

Speaking at a meeting with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki Moon on the sidelines of the World Future Energy Summit, President Buhari said that in collaboration with the Multinational Joint Task Force, the Nigerian Armed Forces have driven the terrorist group from Nigerian territory into "fall-back positions".

"They are currently not holding any territory today as we speak, " the President told Mr. Ban Ki Moon.

President Buhari also told the United Nations Secretary-General that Nigeria will persistently pursue global action to reverse the drying up of Lake Chad and save the lives of those who depend on it for survival.

"With all due respect to our neighbours, Nigeria has been worst hit by the drying up of the Lake Chad and we are hoping that the global community will support the process of halting the drying up of the lake, " President Buhari said.

Mr. Ban Ki Moon commended the President for his courage in fighting terrorism and corruption.

The Secretary-General said that Nigeria has made amazing progress against terrorism since President Buhari assumed office, while the President's war against corruption has boosted global confidence in the Nigerian economy.

He urged President Buhari to integrate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into Nigeria's economic and environmental vision.

Nigeria Signs Agreement With UAE On Recovery Of Stolen Funds

The signing of the agreements on trade, finance and judicial matters was witnessed by President Muhammadu Buhari and the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, according to Channel Television.

Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun and the UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Obaid Attayar, signed the Avoidance of Double Taxation Agreement, while the Minister of Trade and Investment, Mr Okechukwu Enelamah signed the Agreement on Trade Promotion and Protection with the UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs.

The Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and his counterpart in the United Arab Emirates, Sultan Bin Saeed Albadi signed the Judicial Agreements on Extradition, Transfer of Sentenced Persons, and Mutual Legal Assistance on Criminal and Commercial Matters, which includes the recovery and repatriation of stolen wealth, Channel reported .

At a reception after the signing of the agreements, President Buhari reiterated his commitment to fighting corruption and restoring Nigeria’s dignity in the comity of nations.

The President also urged all Islamic countries to support the fight against terrorism in Nigeria and described the atrocities of Boko Haram as un-Islamic and against the teachings of the Holy Prophet.

In his remarks, Crown Prince Zayed Al Nahyan said that the relationship between Nigeria and the UAE would be strengthened by President Buhari’s visit and the signing of the agreements.
